The Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board partners with area colleges and technical schools, local trainers and businesses to create Customized Skill Training for current and potential employees or as a way for employers to build their workforce. These programs are tailored to the employer’s specific needs and participation requires an employer contribution of 50% of training program costs along with a hiring commitment. We reimburse the employer for 50% of training costs.
Specialized skill training can be developed to help Incumbent Workers meet changing demands in an industry and advance a company’s business goals. There are eligibility requirements that workers must meet and a pre-determined percentage wage increase is required post-training.
