MATURE WORKERS RESOURCE CENTER
Located at the Washington Park Senior Center, staff at this location are trained to address the special issues that older adults face when looking for employment. Within an atmosphere of encouragement and support, older adults in transition are helped to develop the readiness skills necessary to enter or return to the workforce.
Here you can obtain resource materials, employment applications, resume preparation assistance and access the Internet for job postings. We can help you secure a job that will provide long term self-sufficiency in positions that meet your interests, aptitudes, values and stated economic needs. Individualized services are available for those who meet specific eligibility requirements.
Displaced Homemakers are another eligible population served at the Mature Workers Resource Center. A displaced homemaker is an individual who has been providing unpaid services to family members in the home and depending on the income of another family member, but who is no longer supported by that income, is unemployed or underemployed, and is having difficulty in obtaining or upgrading employment.
