The Tests

ACT
The ACT tests your knowledge in the areas of English, math, science and reading. Information on testing dates and sites, test taking tips and strategies, on-line registration and practice tests.

SAT
The SAT measures verbal reasoning, critical reading and math problem solving skills. Register on-line and for information regarding test dates, test preparation and practice tests.

COMPASS
Used mainly by community and technical colleges, it is a computerized assessment to identify the appropriate starting level for reading, writing, and math courses.

ASSET
Used mainly by community and technical colleges, it is a paper-and-pencil placement test that measures skills in reading, writing and mathematics.

ACCUPLACER®
The purpose of ACCUPLACER tests is to provide you with useful information about your academic skills in math, English, and reading. The results of the assessment, in conjunction with your academic background, goals, and interests, are used by academic advisors and counselors to determine your course selection.
