| GET INVOLVED
Getting your first paying job can be easier if you have some volunteer experience. Volunteer jobs offer a broad range of experiences that can be more meaningful than at the corner store.
A volunteer job can put you in touch with people outside of your normal experience, too. Work with the elderly at an adult day care center or help a non-profit plan a special event. There are many volunteer opportunities, but it is important to find one that matches your interests and fits into your school schedule.
Your guidance counselor or STEP-UP Coordinator can help you find the right opportunity.

Some volunteer jobs are limited to people who are over 18, but many are not. The Volunteer Center of Milwaukee keeps a large database of volunteer jobs. Take a look to get some ideas for now or in the future. |
